(NB: This is only a summary, overridden by the official policy document: Admissions Policy)

Al Madani Independent Grammar School (AMIGS) is a small secondary school with a maximum intake of 24 students per class. What this means for you as a parent is:
– Independent school: AMIGS is a fee paying school (fees for 2023-24 are £4,900 for the Academic year, most parents pay monthly)
– Grammar School: The intake is selective, students must pass both an Entrance exam & an interview to attend
– Secondary: We only cover KS3 & KS4 (Years 7 to 11), with a maximum of 24 students per Year group – 120 students in total.

Though not essential, we encourage parents to come to the Open day or arrange a time to tour the school in advance of application.  Of course, the website has a lot of detail about admissions so Insha’Allah it will answer your questions.

As well as the initial form, you will be required to provide additional information for your child to sit the exam – please note, students without the form or the below information will not have their papers marked:
– Student’s proof of identity
– Photocopy of birth certificate or passport
– Photo of your child (passport style)
– Proof of address: council tax, utility bill or similar
– Non refundable application processing fee. For 2024 this is £100

After the Exam has been completed, you will be informed of the result – please note this result is a pass / fail message. AMIGS does not enter into providing scores or feedback on candidate performances.

For those who have passed, the next stage is the interview, which involves the following:
– A detailed form will be sent for you and your child to fill in
– Your child’s school will be contacted for further information
– Your child will go through a structured interview and evaluation with the Headmaster and an additional school official.  We encourage both parents to attend too.

Once both stages are complete, students will be ranked and offer letters sent out to the successful applicants.
